Two brothers, Bobby and Vik Jain, established Fana in 1998. Bobby is the creative force behind the company. He learned about gem cutting and polishing at an early age from his parent’s involvement in the importing and exporting of gemstones. Bobby went on to study jewelry design at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. He jump-started his career in Valenza (Italy), where he began to develop his unique sense of jewelry design as well as build his client base. His brother, Vik, manages the business end of the company. He graduated from Columbia University and spent several years on Wall Street.
Fana’s 18k yellow, white and rose gold pieces are largely marked by their contemporary design, ranging from delicate ovals and circles to whimsical swirls. This clean sense of design is complimented by Fana’s elegant use of stones. These gemstones rarely overpower the “look” of each piece. Customers often comment that the stones appear to “float” above their metal settings. The collection’s pinpoint channel and “gravity” settings create this illusion of “floating stones.” Both Bobby and Vik seek to fulfill an untapped “facet” of the jewelry industry - luxury jewelry for women to wear everyday.
