“Painting is like digging for buried treasure. If you can envision the possibility that there is something there, beneath the surface, it’s only a matter of digging long enough to see what you can pull out.”
Jamie Barthel’s love of painting began when she was just a child. At the age of eight or nine, she designed posters for a children’s bazaar at her church. Jamie’s passion for art continued throughout her adulthood. She studied fine art and psychology and gained work experiences in both graphic art and textile design. Jamie began working with reverse hand painting in 2002 and established her own line of glass lighting using this process in 2005. The artist currently lives and works out of Woodstock, New York.
